Major Gift Program

Petrus Development is committed to helping clients achieve success through building and enhancing sustainable development programs.  Our goal with the Major Gift Program is to utilize the experience of Petrus in the visit and gift solicitation process, as well as a passion for ministry to secure transformative philanthropic gifts on behalf of your organization.  This marries the benefit of outside counsel with a tenacious commitment to face-to-face visits realized led by a professional team.

Petrus Development would be a partner in elevating the overall development efforts of your organization through involvement in the face-to-face visit process. This process would include Discovery, Cultivation, Solicitation, and Stewardship visits on behalf of your organization. Working together in this way, your organization will gain experience and guidance in the development process, while securing the significant resources you need for ministry.

Aspects of the Major Gift Program include:
•  Identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of current and potential benefactors
•  Each year, make 75 to 100 discovery, cultivation and solicitation visits to potential benefactors
•  Management of the visit process as part of a comprehensive development program focused on securing major gifts in cash or pledges
•  Coordinate with organizational leaders and staff regarding documentation of visits, gifts and other relevant development information
